Description
The Schepens Eye Research Institute, an affiliate of Harvard MedicalSchool, has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow in stem cell-basedregenerative research to study the regenerative effects of human retinalprogenitor cells and therapeutic applications to retinal degenerativediseases, including glaucoma and retinitis pigmentosa.
Hands-on experience with animal surgery as well as background inneuroscience, retrograde labeling of neurons, frozen sectioning,immuohistochemistry, and microscopy are required.
Candidates must have a Ph.D, M.D. or equivalent degree, with a strongbackground in molecular biology and neuroscience, and publication recordin respected scientific journals. Knowledge of mouse brainelectrophysiology is highly desirable.
