Description
The Receptor Biology Group is a newly created laboratory in the Schoolof Biomedical Sciences at the University of Queensland. Our aim is toadvance understanding of the processes that allow membrane receptors totransmit signals and affect cell function, including the mechanisms usedby cells to limit signalling and permit responses of appropriatestrength and duration. Our research focuses on seven transmembranespanning, G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) that represent the largestreceptor superfamily in our genome. A post-doctoral position isavailable to characterise the molecular and cellular processes thatdictate activation and trafficking of regulatory/scaffolding proteinstermed arrestins, as well as the contribution of arrestins to thecomplexity of GPCR function and signalling.
Applicants should possess a PhD and post-doctoral experience inmolecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related field.Experience in protein expression and signalling, confocal live cellimaging and the use of viral expression vectors is particularly sought
