Description

The project involves the study of ion transport processes and metabolism in the etiology of islet dysfunction in Type 1 and 2 diabetes. Relevant experience in patch clamp, imaging and molecular biology is an asset. Further project details available upon request.

The Light laboratory is in the Alberta Diabetes Institute at the University of Alberta, Edmonton. Edmonton is the capital of Alberta and has a growing population of more than one million people and is known as Canada’s Festival City, presenting arts and cultural activities throughout the year. The City is located only a few hours drive from the Canadian Rockies, offering world class outdoor opportunities such as hiking, mountain biking and skiing.
