JOB DESCRIPTION
A full-time research fellow position is available at the Department of Pharmacy at the National University of Singapore (http://www.nus.edu.sg/aboutus/ ) under the supervision of Ass. Prof. Giorgia Pastorin. Candidate will conduct research studies, input data, and perform data analysis as appropriate.
In particular, the successful applicant will explore diversified surface modifications and synthetic approaches for drug delivery and other biomedical applications.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To be responsible for research project logistics, including but not limited to purchase of equipment/ materials, setting up of study sites and monitoring of research progress.

2. Participate in fieldwork and conduct research projects
o Prepare research protocol, review literature articles, data collection, lab interpretation

3. Organize and input collated data into database
o Data check and cleaning
o Data analysis and interpretation as needed under supervision

4. Participate in administrative work and tasks

JOB REQUIREMENT’S

1. EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

1.1 A PhD in any biomedical discipline, preferably Organic Chemistry. Experience in Nanomedicine, surface functionalization, polymer syntheses, nanoparticle characterization and cellular up-take is an advantage.

1.2 Strong interest in research; having at least 3 publications as first author in international journals with impact factor >4.

1.3 Candidate must be an independent mature worker who is well-organized, have an eye for details.

1.4 Basic proficiency in using Microsoft Office Applications, particularly MS Word, Access, Excel and Powerpoint. Knowledge in using statistical software (e.g. SPSS) is a plus.

1.5 The candidate should possess good interpersonal skills and be willing to supervise PhD and undergraduate students, as well as to undergo training for animal handling.

This position will be offered on a 1 year contract basis with possible renewal according to work performance.
