We are looking for a highly motivated post doc candidate to join our research group in the Development Neurobiology Unit at the GIGA-Neurosciences, Liège, Belgium (http://www.giga.ulg.ac.be/). To meet the increasing demands of performing multidisciplinary research, the GIGA offers Core facilities including imaging, molecular biology, proteomics/metabolomics, histology, aquatic facility (zebrafish), mouse facility, etc…

Our group uses a combination of genetic, molecular and cellular techniques to address the molecular mechanisms controlling the generation of 1/ hair cells and spiral ganglion neurons in the auditory portion of the mammalian inner ear in physiological and pathological conditions. The position is for a period 12 months initially, with the possibility of extension for an additional 12 months and starting October 1st, 2011. Preference will be given to candidates with a track record of peer-reviewed publications.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline and interest and experience in molecular and cellular biology would be an advantage. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required.
