The group aims at an improved understanding of the response of tumour and normal tissue cells to chemo- and radiotherapy with a focus on signaling pathways involved in therapy-induced cell death and proinflammatory / profibrotic tissue reactions. Further studies focus on the mechanisms of tumour cell intrinsic and microenvironment-mediated resistance to chemo- and radiotherapy.
