The general surgeon will work in Jiahui International Hospital,supporting Breast Program and General Surgery Colleagues
• Perform daily patient rounds as part of the team. Review subjectiveand objective findings including labs, diagnostic testing, vital signs,wound status, and drains and provide data to senior consultant surgeonswhen necessary
• Assist senior surgeons on surgical cases and performs various dutiesduring surgery: tissue exposure, retraction and closure of wound, tubesand or drain placement etc.
• Examine patient, perform comprehensive physical examination, andcompile patient medical data, including health history and results ofphysical examination, develop assessment and plan
• Collaborate with senior consultants in the establishment of diagnosesand treatment of therapies and discharge needs both in the inpatient andoutpatient setting
• Discontinue drains, dressing changes, wound assessments, staple andsuture removal and any necessary assessment relating to the surgery performed
• Document daily progress note on all inpatient. Document progress notesfor each patient seen in clinic.
• Assesses patient’s progress through extended hospital course, utilizesavailable resources, and intervene as necessary to ensure that optimalpatient outcome are achieved
• Resource for nursing staff regarding patient care issues as needed
• Share call with General Surgery colleagues to insure JIH has 24 hoursurgical coverage
• Work on quality improvement activities within the department or anyadministrative tasks as assigned by Breast Program Director incollaboration with other team as needed
• Collaborate closely with the Administrative Leader/Chairperson of theDepartment in supporting departmental goals
Qualifications
Complete degree from an accredited Chinese or international medical university
Complete full training in general surgery in an accredited trainingprogram either in China or abroad
At lease 3 years clinical surgical experience
Chinese fluency is required and English proficiency preferred
