Application Specialist - Life Sciences

Role Summary/Purpose: Responsible for providing formal technicalsupport during the sales process within in a limited geographic regionor limited industry/product segment. Responsibilities may includeproviding required pre-sale product demonstrations and post-saleinstallation, training and/or customer service activities and ongoingcustomer support. May be required to play leadership role within localteam.
Essential Responsibilities: 1. Provide technical leadership duringsales process by demonstrating full range of product features includingpotential uses, product capabilities and benefits to customers as needed

2. Develop, coordinate and deliver product training to customers onsoftware, application and/or equipment use, monitor customerinstallations within assigned territory/region to improve customersatisfaction and maintain customer relationships

3. Improve customer satisfaction and socket retention through continuingeducation on optimization of equipment utilization by customer

4. Support trade shows and professional conferences by performingproduct demonstration and promotion as well as customer training

5. Use market and product knowledge to assist sales team in developingsales, marketing and customer service strategies

6. Produce well-written post-training reports and provide regularfeedback on customer satisfaction and needs
If also taking on team leadership role responsibilities also include:

1. Facilitate team communication and the sharing of best practices

2. Assist with the assimilation of new hires into the organization

3. Act as a mentor to field team, providing technical and professionalguidance as necessary to improve the customer experience

4. Communicate with Sales and Application Leaders to align applicationsactivities with sales needs and business objectives

5. Communicate with local Applications Specialists and Account Managersto ensure all customer and business needs are met

6. Energize team and maintain adherence of field processes
Qualifications/Requirements: Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences related major

2. Experience with research and lab environment

3. 3 years commercial applications/modality experience with demonstratedsuccesses in high level customer interactions and sales scenarios

4. Proficiency in computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite products

5. Willingness to travel extensively within your specified geographicregion as well as to nationwide sales meetings and tradeshows

6. Ability to communicate effectively using local language

Quality Specific Goals

1. Knowledge and understanding of all Global Privacy andAnti-Competition Policies (including but not limited to GE HealthcareHIPAA Guidelines, NEMA Regulations, etc.) and operates within them toensure that no company policy or US / Int’l Law is broken.

2. Knowledge and understanding of all Environmental Health Policies(including but not limited to GE Healthcare EHS Policies, GE HealthcareFleet Rules, etc.) and operate within them to ensure that no companypolicy or US / Int’l Law is broken

3. Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality ManagementSystem, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable lawsand regulations as they apply to this job type/position

4. Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within thedefined deadlines

5. Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and takeimmediate corrective action as required

6. Drive continuous improvement on all related processes, workinstructions, and procedures to ensure ongoing standardization andsimplification of the Quality Management System

1. Master's or Doctor's degree preferred in related business ortechnical/clinical field
2. Strong leadership skills (respected by peers and leadership forcontributions to the business)
3. Strong presentation skills (public speaking and lecture experiencedesired)
4. Demonstrated ability to understand and present complex material inunderstandable terms
5. Demonstrated interpersonal & communication skills (ability toeffectively communicate, verbally and in writing, to external customers,global counterparts and to team members in other functionalorganizations)
6. Solid problem solving skills (ability to manage and resolve conflict,communicate issues and propose solutions to both internal team membersand external customers)
7. Proven professional business acumen (experience interfacing with bothinternal team members and external customers as a part of asolution-based sales process)
8. Self-motivated, willingness to take the initiative to identifyopportunities for improvement and take actions to improve
9. Team oriented with a customer satisfaction mindset
10. Ability to multi-task effectively and manage multiple priorities atone time
11. Willingness to be flexible/adapt to changing work environments
12. Experience in large university/institute setting preferred
13. Experience on all current Life Sciences products for whichresponsibilities cover
14. Experience within GE modality or marketing roles
