1.Monitor specimen collection, identification, transport, storage, andprocessing to ensure quality of specimen before testing. 2.Prepares reagents, standards and controls according to prescribedprocedures. 3.Performs tests and sample analysis in the areas of clinical chemistry,hematology & Blood Bank, microbiology (ID&ATB excluded),immunology and/or Body fluid analysis. 4.Verifies normal test results prior to release. 5.Performs quality control to ensure proper functioning of instruments,reagents, and procedures. Recognizes instrument malfunction andout-of-control test results, takes corrective action and reports to thesupervisor. 6.Answers basic questions of physicians and nurses concerning laboratorytests, accepts complaints, and initiates corrective actions. 7.Participates in education class and continuing education programs tokeep current on new instrumentation, techniques and procedures. 8.Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements: 1.Education certificate as a medical technician from professionalmedical school/college. 2.Elementary English level in listening, speaking, reading and writingis preferred. 3.Perform full range of chemistry, microbiology (ID&ATB excluded),immunology, hematology & Blood Bank and body fluid laboratoryprocedures. 4.Evaluates and solves problems related to collection and processing ofbiological specimens for analysis. 5.Differentiates and resolves technical, instrument, physiologic causesof simple problems or unexpected test results. 6.Knowledge of procedures, instruments and quality control measures. 7.Ability to deal with troubleshooting of medical instruments. 8.Understands and enforces safety regulations. 9.A general comprehension of the many factors that affect health anddisease and ethics including result confidentiality.
