An NIH-funded Postdoctoral Fellowship is available immediately in the laboratory of Kurt J. Varner (www.medschool.lsuhsc.edu/pharmacology/), to understand how exposure to particulate matter alters pulmonary and cardiac function in vivo and in vitro. Salary opportunities will be highly competitive. Applicants should be highly motivated with a strong background in cardiac/cardiovascular function, pulmonary function, inflammation, oxidative stress, and/or in the use of rodent models of cardiovascular disease. Applicants will be involved in an expanding Cardiovascular Center and the pulmonary research programs at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. Minimum requirements are a Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Physiology or other related science field.
