Brief descriptionof project: Signaling by molecules derived from redblood cells in lung disease
A research associate is sought to join a dynamic, multidisciplinaryresearch group investigating molecular mechanisms underlying signalingby RBC-derived mediators in the lung in health and disease, particularlyin sickle cell disease. The successful applicant will focus on a projectusing murine models and translational approaches to investigate theregulation of blood flow by red blood cell-derived nitric oxide and ATPin healthy and sickle cell lungs. Candidates familiar with mousephysiology, molecular and cell biology, and analytical NO and proteinbiochemistry will be at an advantage, as will those with a track recordof published research. The position is available immediately for aninitial two year period. Salary commensurate with experience.
