A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately in the Department of Cardiac Surgery, at the University of Michigan. The focus of the lab is to investigate the mechanism of aneurysm formation and tissue engineered vascular grafts. The candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in biomedical sciences. Experience working in the stem cell area will be a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this training position will have prior experience working in the stem cell area and have experience with tissue culture, molecular biology and developmental biology. Expertise in one or more of the following areas will be a plus: development biology, stem cell biology and regenerative medicine, mouse genetics, and biomaterial generation. Preference will be given to candidates with documented success in research, such as recent first author publications and aspirations for an independent scientific career. However, we would consider anyone who has a strong research background, thinks deeply and creatively, has varied intellectual interests, works independently, and is passionate about their work.
