A Postdoctoral position is available at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel, to study signal transduction pathways that regulate cell growth, migration and invasion of cancer cells. Specifically, we focus on signaling pathways that are regulated by the tyrosine kinase PYK2 (Lev S. et al, Nature 376, 737-745), the lipid-transfer protein Nir2 (Litvak V. et al, Nature Cell Biology 7(3), 225-234) and its interacting VAP -B protein. The role of these proteins in cancer progression and metastasis will be investigated using in vitro and in vivo models. Candidates must have a strong background in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and experience in signal transduction research. Individuals with experienced work with animal models are preferred.
Candidates should have their Ph.D. for no more than three years.
