The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis is the world’s largest most comprehensive research center specializing in spinal cord injury. A Postdoctoral position funded by the NIH is available in the laboratory of Dr. Brian Noga. The laboratory offers training in various electrophysiological and electrochemical techniques such as in vivo voltammertry, extracellular and intracellular recording from identified spinal neurons, iontophoresis, microinjection and localized reversible cooling of brain and spinal cord to block signal transmission within central pathways.
The applicant should have a recent Ph.D. or post-doctoral experience in Neuroscience, Biomedical Engineering, or Behavioral Neuroscience. Candidates with a research background in spinal and/or brainstem motor/sensory systems are preferred but backgrounds in related fields will be considered. An appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
