Description:

 A full-time postdoctoral research position is open in the Department of Neurological Surgery at the Miller School of Medicine of the University of Miami. The project is NIH-funded, with a focus on the molecular mechanisms that result in hippocampal-dependent cognitive impairments after traumatic brain injury.
The project will be to perform electrophysiology on hippocampal slices from traumatic brain injured animals and to assess animals for cognitive functioning after brain trauma.

Candidater should have
——Expertise in electrophysiology techniques is required,
——and experience with cognitive behavioral testing of rodents is highly desired. A research technician is available for surgical support, and salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
