Description:
Two post-doctoral positions are available in the laboratory of Lei Yang, Ph.D, Department of Developmental Biology, University of Pittsburgh, School of Medicine, PA, USA.
We explore the mechanisms of early human heart formation and inherited human cardiovascular diseases using embryonic stem (ES) cells, patient-derived induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells and mouse as models (Nature. 453, 524-528, 2008; Development. 133, 1575-85, 2006; Nature. 454: 104-8, 2008.).
The successful candidates should have a good publication record, and experience in cell biology and molecular biology.
Experience of virus, Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorting (FACS) and/or ES/iPS cells is desirable for one position. Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of microRNA, or human heart diseases.
Experience of tissue engineering is required for the second position. Preference will be given to individuals with knowledge of heart tissue engineering or decellularized scaffold.
The successful candidate must be highly motivated with a recent Ph.D. degree.
