Job Description:
Applications are invited for two Post-doctoral Research Fellowships, for three years, available immediately. One is funded by the European Union and one by the Multiple Sclerosis Society. The EU project ("NeuroproMiSe") concerns the development and application of novel strategies for axonal protection in inflammatory demyelinating disease. Our group has already developed one strategy which is currently in clinical trial. The other project will combine confocal microscopy and electrophysiology to explore in real time the pathophysiological consequences of inflammation within the central nervous system, particularly the effects on axons and mitochondria. The latter position will involve research collaboration with Prof Michael Duchen, Department of Physiology, UCL (see: http://www.physiol.ucl.ac.uk/research/duchen_m/
Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant subject area and appropriate experience in neuroimmunology, confocal microscopy, and/or electrophysiology. Starting salary will be on UCL Grade 7, superannuable.
