Position：Sales ManagerJob Description:
• Demonstrated ability to meet sales goals.
• Generate and qualify sales leads to expand sales opportunities.
• Close profitable business by meeting or exceeding sales goals and objectives through either direct or indirect channels.
• Create and maintain relationships with customers to promote penetration, retention and loyalty.
• Work as a team with Sales, Marketing and Product Development to identify and mitigate competitive barriers to increasing sales.
• Work with purchasing departments to understand procurement processes and develop strategies to mitigate sales barriers.
• Submit weekly forecast reports, timely expense reports and activity reports.
• Conduct both technical and promotional seminars and “lunch and learns” to educate potential customers and “seed” future sales
Requirements
• Knowledge and skills typically acquired through the acquisition of a Bachelor's degree (BS) in Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Biology, Chemistry, or closely related science is a must. Completion of graduate level courses in Science &/or Business is desirable.
• Experience selling into large pharma, and academic research and hospital markets.
• Minimum of three years field sales experience or related sales-centric experience a must. Experience in reagent and/or technology platform sales is a strong plus. Experience in sales and/or territory management is a plus.
• Knowledge of the Gene Expression or Functional Genomics is highly desired.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, good English skills in reading, writing and listening.
• Experience working with American or other multi-national companies
• Ability to influence/educate others in order to gain acceptance/approval of innovative concepts/products is a requisite
• Ability to implement strategic and tactical plans both independently and with a team.
• Demonstrate organizational, prioritization and planning skills required for successful account management, territory management, and project management.
• Proven ability to work and succeed under minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel as necessary within territory
职位描述：
Position Description
1) Assist customers with the use of the Affymetrix GeneChip™ Systems and corresponding products, ensure the success of VIP customer, and manage demo lab;
2) Assist the sales team with pre- and post-sales activities such as seminars and other presentations;
3) Provide technical support to users of the GeneChip™ System and related technologies through both remote and on-site customer interactions as a representative of Affymetrix;
4) Common elements of the support effort will entail answering customer inquiries by oral and written communication, instructing individuals in the use of the GeneChip Systems and related technologies with demonstrations and on-site training, troubleshooting problems, and maintaining records of customer communications and technical support functions in company files.
5) The GeneChip System technologies to be supported are composed of the following elements: Windows XP or win7 computer workstations, GeneChip hardware systems and analysis software, data management and analysis software running on servers, and molecular biology applications such as genotyping, polymorphism screening, and gene expression monitoring.
Position Requirements
1) Bachelor's/ Master's degree or higher in the life sciences;
2) 3-5 years related experience in laboratory research using Molecular Biology techniques;
3) Experience with the Affymetrix GeneChip technology is preferred;
4) Customer support and/or teaching experience of technical material is required;
5) Excellent computer operation experience and understanding, preferably in a PC environment using Windows XP or Win7;
6) Requires strong written and oral communication skills and flexibility to work with various social styles in an effective manner;
7) Business travel experience is recommended since position requires ability to travel overnight and on weekends, primarily for FAS training and trade show attendance;
8) Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
