Position:
a Post-Doctoral Researcher in Primate Cognition
Job Description:
We are seeking a talented post-doctoral researcher to spearhead a new NIMH-funded effort to examine the genetic determinants of cognition in non-human primates. The successful applicant will lead a small team of researchers who will conduct cognitive testing in a large pedigree of socially-living monkeys. Day to day functions will include behavioral assessments (both observational and experimental), animal husbandry and routine care, data collection and collation, direct supervision of 1-2 research assistants and regular interactions with faculty directors and with animal care staff and veterinarians.
The fellow will be directly supervised by faculty located at the University of California, Los Angeles but will work full time at the monkey colony, located in North Carolina. Travel to Los Angeles is a requirement of the position.
Requirements:
PhD in neuroscience, psychology or related discipline. Experience with behavioral or cognitive studies in non-human primates (preferably old world monkeys).
