Description
A post doctoral position is available immediately for a project titled"Borrelia burgdorferi interaction with microvessels in vivo",under the direction of Drs. Michael Miller (Biochemistry Department) andPingnian He, Ph.D., M.D. (Physiology and Pharmacology Department) atWest Virginia University. The selected candidate will learn to performmicrovessel cannulation in rats and use a variety of imaging and otherphysiological techniques and will be involved in all aspects of thelaboratory's research program involving microvessel inflammation andinteraction of the Lyme disease spirochete, Borrelia burgdorferi, withmicrovessels. In addition, he/she will have the opportunity to interactwith a dynamic group of scientists and post doctoral fellows with vastexperience in Physiology, Microbiology and Biochemistry.
The applicant must have a M.D. or Ph.D. degree in Physiology, Anatomy,or related field in the basic sciences, and have at least six months upto one year of related experience including animal surgical experienceto apply.
