Job Description:

The University of South Alabama (USA) has initiated development of the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute (USAMCI).

Interdisciplinary clinical research and service programs will emphasize thoracic, gastro-intestinal, urologic, dermatologic, geriatric oncology, & women's cancers. A phase I/II clinical trials unit will be an integral component and will be interfaced with a community-based, phase II/III clinical trials network. A major translational research focus will be new drug, immunotherapeutic, & diagnostic discovery & development, with an emphasis on metastasis, drug resistance mechanisms & targets. The Clinical Immunotherapeutics Research Laboratory (CIRL) was created within the USAMCI to support these initiatives.

Postdoctoral candidates are now being sought for the CIRL. Only candidates with a Ph.D and/or M.D. and strong background in both immunology and molecular biology will be considered. Successful candidates will conduct research and receive advanced training one or more the following: cancer immunotherapy, chemoimmunotherapy, mouse models of cancer vaccine/T cell transfer, use of dendritic cells & adjuvants in immunotherpy.

The USAMCI is ideally located in Mobile, Alabama, a progressive, mid-sized port city of rich cultural history, in the beautiful upper Gulf coastal region.
