Job Description:
The Georg-Speyer-Haus in Frankfurt am Main, Germany is an academic non-profit research institute supported by the Federal Ministry of Health and the Ministry for Sciences and Arts of the State of Hessen. The institute is dedicated to basic and translational research in the fields of cancer and infectious diseases, and has close ties to the University of Frankfurt and the Frankfurt University Hospital.
The group of PD Dr. Martin Zörnig is interested in the regulation and deregulation of apoptosis. To continue studies on Fas Ligand reverse signaling (see Kirkin et al., Cell Death Diff. Jun 8th 2007, epub ahead of print; Cahuzac et al., Blood 107, 2384 (2006); Baum et al., JBC 280, 40012 (2005)), a postdoc (BAT IIa) will be employed. Funding is secured by a DFG grant for 36 months, the initial contract will be for 2 years. A strong background in molecular biology is expected, experience in mouse genetics and immunology and/or protein biochemistry would be desirable.
