Postdoctoral Research Associate for Developmental Neurobiology

Job Description:

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate post funded by the MRC to work in the group of Dr Juan Burrone in the MRC Centre for Developmental Neurobiology. The project focuses on understanding membrane turnover during synaptogenesis: from growth cone extension to synapse formation. The successful candidate will be part of a highly motivated team using state-of-the-art techniques to investigate vesicle cycling during synapse formation in dissociated hippocampal neurons.

Applicants must be highly motivated in research and hold a PhD or equivalent with strong background in neurophysiology or related field. Applicants with additional experience in one or more of the following areas will be given top priority: live cell imaging, electrophysiology, molecular biology, cell biology and primary neuron cell culture.

Post duration: 3 year fixed term contract.

The salary will be offered on the RA1A scale from ￡21,477 to ￡27,393 per annum plus ￡2,323 London Allowance per annum according to experience.
