Position

Postdoctoral fellowships in division of molecular neuroendocrinology: Molecular regulation of exocytosis in cultured human endothelial cells

Location

Mill Hill United Kingdom

Date Posted

Aug 22 2007

Closing Date

Salary

Salary for these MRC Band 4 posts is from £26,405 – £32,357 per annum (inclusive of Location Allowance). MRC final salary Pension Scheme available.

Description

The project’s focus will be to investigate the molecular regulation of exocytosis in cultured human endothelial cells using a combination of biochemical (ELISA/western blot/immunoprecipitation) molecular (construction and transfection of mammalian expression vectors, siRNA mediated knockdown, site directed mutagensis) morphological (immunofluorescence) and biophysical (multi-colour live-cell imaging, electrophysiology, flash photolysis) techniques.

You should have an interest in the mammalian secretory pathway and exocytosis, experience in the molecular cell biological techniques outlined above, and preferably experience of live cell imaging and/or electrophysiology.
