Postdoctoral Fellow

We wish to appoint a Postdoctoral Fellow within the laboratory of Professor Gordon Brown on a 3 year project investigating immune responses to mycobacterial pathogens. The post is funded by the MRC (UK) but is based at the Institute of Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine, University of Cape Town. The successful candidate will hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, achieved within the last 5 years, and have extensive experience in immunology and a minimum of three years’ experience in working with in vivo models of infection. Applicants may not previously (since achieving the PhD) have held full-time professional or academic posts. The fellowship is for one year, renewable for two further years, contingent on satisfactory progress. Deadline for submission of applications is 15 March 2012, with an anticipated start date of 15 April 2012.
