Job Description

Touro University California, a rapidly growing university offering graduate educational programs in health sciences and education, currently has an excellent opportunity on our Mare Island campus for a Full Time Postdoc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Postdoctoral position is available, starting Feb 27, 2012, to conduct research in the laboratory of Dr. Alison McCormick at Touro University California. The applicant selected for this position will explore new pseudovirus RNA formulations for immunotherapy and vaccine development. Our laboratory uses molecular biology, cell culture, FACS, ELISpot and biochemical methods, in addition to mouse tumor models, to analyze and develop effective vaccines. Publications describing initial elements of these studies have appeared in Virology (2007,Smith, 358, p321).

Candidates will be strongly encouraged to write scientific papers for publication as well as grants for fellowship awards. Candidates with expertise in virology, molecular biology, biochemistry and immunology (including signaling pathways), and a familiarity with mouse immunization procedures, are especially encouraged to apply.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ph.D. and /or M.D. degree, or an equivalent MS and 5+ years work experience.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
