Looking for biochemist/cell biologist with experience in purification and characterization of RNA-protein complexes using traditional in vitro studies as well as approaches involving nextgen sequencing . The goal of the project is to understanding the fuction of the Senataxin RNA helicase and other RNA binding molecules implicated in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders. The project would build on the work described in Nedea, Nalbant et al. Mol Cell 2008 as well as mouse, S. cerevisiae and S. pombe models generated for Senataxin and associated factors. Experience with mice, S. cerevisiae or S. pombe preferred. The successful candidate would be part of a dynamic research environment at the Taub Center for Alzheimer Disease and the Aging Brain.
