A one-year post-doctoral fellowship is available to study the molecular regulation of regeneration amongst Urodele amphibians.
Over the last few years our group has developed a new functional cardiac regeneration model in Notophthalmus viridescens (red-spotted newts) and we are currently in the process of delineating the cellular and molecular processes that drive regeneration in these amazing adult vertebrates. Using the cardiac regeneration model, and the more established limb regeneration model, we are interested in identifying global mechanisms that regulate regeneration.
Qualifications
An eager and driven post-doctoral researcher is needed to further our understanding of the exciting preliminary results we have already obtained. Characteristics we are looking for in our candidates are the wiliness to be proactive, self-motivated and the ability to run their own projects.
The successful candidate will be chosen based on their scientific track record in cell and molecular biology, which will in part, be assessed via the candidate’s publication record. Previous work involving regeneration biology will be looked upon favourably. All candidates must have passed a FELASA laboratory animal science course in order to apply for this fellowship.
All candidates must be newly graduated PhD students (within one year of passing) and should hold a PhD from a University/Institute outside of Sweden.
Terms of employment
Stipendium is based full-time for one year. The stipend is negotiated on an individual basis and is in the range of 14000-20000 SEK per month.
Starting dates will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
