Description
One postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Dr Eric Asselin (Canada research chair in molecular gyneco-oncology and director of the research group in molecular and cellular biopathology) to study molecular mechanisms underlying human endometrial cancer chemoresistance and metastasis. The research focuses on the identification of genes/proteins involved in these processes and their intra-cellular mechanism of action. PI 3-K/Akt pathway, XIAP, TGF-beta, TNF-alpha and prostaglandins are factors studied in the lab. Cell lines and xenografts mice models are used as well as human tissues obtained from the Trois-Rivieres Regional Hospital Center.
Self-motivated candidates with experience in cellular and molecular biology (DNA/RNA/protein manipulation, real-time PCR, immunohistochemistry, RNAi, shRNA, etc.) and xenografts in nude mice are highly desired.
• Research is well-funded and publication-oriented.
• The University of Québec at Trois-Rivières (UQTR) is a French-speaking university, but both English and French are spoken in the lab, and good English communication skills are required.
• UQTR is located in a bucolic environment, 90 min from both Montréal and Québec City.
