The Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy/Health Sciences at Wayne State University (WSU ) announces a post-doctoral fellow position to contribute to research in insulin resistance and diabetes funded by National Institutes of Health and American Diabetes Association.

Minimum Qualifications:
• A new hire at WSU
• PhD in the chemical, biological, medical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences
• A strong record of research accomplishments and publications
• The ability to work in a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

The projects in Dr. Zhengping Yi group focus on a better understanding of the basic biology of insulin signaling, and the etiology of insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes. Dr. Yi and his group are using a combination of clinical, biological, and proteomics approaches to study insulin signaling both in vitro in cell models and in vivo in humans. Previous experience in mass spectrometry or animal models is desirable but not required.
