Applications are invited for a postdoctoral biochemist and molecular biologist to join a small but well-funded team investigating the oxidative folding and assembly mechanism of mitochondria intermembrane space proteins. The aim of this project is to define the molecular mechanisms that underlie the oxidative folding and assembly of mitochondrial Tim9-Tim10 complex and to provide insights into the potential for redox based regulation in mitochondria.

You should hold, or will soon be acquiring a PhD in Biochemical or Biological science. Experience in at least one of the following areas is desirable: Mitochondria protein import; thiol-disulphide redox chemistry; protein folding and complex assembly studies using biophysical and biochemical techniques; mass spectrometry.

Funded by the BBSRC, this position is tenable for up to one year.
