A full time, 1 year, post doctoral position is available in the laboratories in the Department of Pathology at Ohio State University, Columbus, OH. This individual will lead the Image Analysis of Pathology slide images and validation of various protocols for detection and diagnosis. The research activity is a joint collaboration between BioImagene Inc., and Dr. Sanford Barsky at OSU that is developing innovative digital pathology algorithms and systems.

This position is a great opportunity for those interested in bridging the gap between academic and commercial Digital Pathology research and development. In addition to the team of Pathologists at OSU, this individual will be a part of a growing team of engineers at BioImagene Inc. who are dedicated to the design and development of intelligent systems for digital pathology and thereby creating a significant impact on the current state of the art in Pathology.

Essential Job Requirements:

Applicants must be motivated to explore new technologies to solve problems related to digital pathology. The candidate should have strong skills and interest in one or more of the following areas: Image Processing, Statistical Modeling and Analysis, Signal Processing, C++/Java Programming, Machine Learning, experimental methods and biomedical engineering. Knowledge and experience with Pathology is a desirable but not necessary qualification. Candidates must have a proven track record of research accomplishments in an associated area, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work individually and in a team.

Understanding of image processing as it relates to the development of biomedical image analysis is highly desired.
Understanding of digital pathology is desirable but not required.

Required Education:

Ph.D or advanced graduate degree in electrical engineering, image processing, computer science, Biomedical Engineering or other similarly technical field required.

Required Experience:

Hands on experience with development of complex image processing algorithms and experimental systems.

Required Skills:

The position requires the candidate to have good mathematical and analytical skills and through knowledge of basic and advanced image processing techniques.Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.

The job will require the candidate to collaborate with Pathologists and other cross discipline researchers.
