Description
An NIH-funded postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Pharmaceutics at the University of Washington. This position seeks for a highly motivated individual with a strong interest in structure and function of membrane transport proteins. The project aims to elucidate the structure and function of a novel organic cation/nucleoside transporter recently cloned in our laboratory, and will involve the use of site-directed mutagenesis, cell culture, membrane protein expression, confocal microscopy, kinetic analysis and computational modeling. Candidates should possess a recent Ph.D. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, or related disciplines. Candidates should be knowledgeable in membrane protein biology and have strong written and oral communication skills. Prior experience with transporters is preferred but not required.
