Salary will be on the University Grade 7, (￡26,666 - 32,796) + ￡2572 London Allowance. Appointments will normally be made to the bottom point of this range.

Description

Postdoctoral Research Associates (Ref: SBRA 09/07)
The Medical Genomics Group headed by Professor Stephan Beck is seeking multiple Postdoctoral Research Associates to start in October or shortly thereafter.

Using experimental and computational approaches, the group has a broad interest in the identification and characterization of genetic and epigenetic mechanisms involved in differentiation, epistasis and disease, particularly the pathogenesis of cancer. Central to this aim is the application and further development of an integrated systems approach for ‘reverse phenotyping’ which is expected to significantly increase our ability to detect combinatorial genetic and epigenetic variations, causing or contributing to cancer and other complex disease phenotypes.
The ideal candidates will have a strong publication record and experience in disease association studies or high-throughput screens. You will develop and lead the experimental part of a disease study using genetic, epigenetic and expression profiling to identify novel susceptibility loci and evaluate targets for translational applications. Previous experience in epigenetic and array analysis would be a strong advantage.
