Description

In the frame of a collaboration between the Experimental Soft Matter group (Prof. G.Maret), Department of Physics and the Solid State – and Bio-inorganic Chemistry group (Prof. Polarz), Department of Chemistry at the University of Konstanz, Germany, we are seeking a Chemist or Physical Chemist for synthesis and characterization of colloidal particles with special optical and magnetic properties. These include polymeric particles, inorganic particles and composite particles required for physical experiments in the areas of multiple light scattering, diffusing wave spectroscopy and light localization, photonic crystals and/or 2D and 3D colloidal crystals and glasses.

The work will be part of research projects financed by the International Research and Training Group on „Soft Condensed Matter Physics of Model Systems“ operated jointly between the University of Konstanz, the University L.Pasteur in Strasbourg and the University J.Fourier in Grenoble ( http://hera.physik.uni-konstanz.de/igk/start.htm) . The candidate should have experience in colloid chemistry and interest in soft matter physics. The appointment will be for one or two years starting at the earliest possible date.
