Description
The Garvan Institute of Medical Research was founded in 1963 and is associated with St Vincent’s Hospital and the University of New South Wales. It is one of Australia’s largest and most successful medical research institutions with approximately 400 scientists, students and support staff. Garvan’s main research programs are: Cancer, Diabetes & Obesity, Immunology & Inflammation, Osteoporosis, and Neuroscience. See www.garvan.org.au.
The Development Group within the Cancer Research Program is currently using a combination of genomic techniques, induced-mutation models (knockout, transgenic, ENU) of aberrant mammary and prostate development and models of experimental carcinogenesis to discover and characterise the function of new genetic elements in these processes.
To support these projects, we are seeking talented and enthusiastic Post Doctoral scientists to work within the Development Group.
Applicants should have a background in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology or related disciplines and have recently completed a PhD or equivalent qualification.
