Description

The project is within the frame of the ERISTO (European Research In Space and Terrestrial Osteoporosis) consortium, whose goal is to provide 3D multicell models mimicking the bone marrow environment, rebuilding bone and helping to understand bone remodeling. The postdoc will be in charge of a) developing integrated osteoblasts-osteoclasts co-culture in macroporous scaffolds, b) setting up cell-seeded scaffolds in a bioreactor able to control the mechanical environement and c) studying the effects of mechanical constraints on these 3D cultures.

The goals are to develop :

1 – An efficient bioreactor able to manage both perfused 3D cultures and application of mechanical stimuli which are major regulators of bone cells.
2 – A 3D multicellular standard model that might be proposed to pharmaceutical companies to test drugs (thus limiting animal experiments).
3 – A pre-clinical model for large bone defects.
