Description

The CD Laboratory on Molecular Cancer Chemoprevention is internationally renowned for translational cancer research. It is located within the premises of the General Hospital, in Vienna and it is part of the Medical University of Vienna Campus.

Applications are invited for a Post-doctoral research Fellow in the group of Prof. Gasche to work on an ongoing programme on colon cancer chemoprevention, related to the effect of the salicylate derivative 5-ASA on cell cycle progression and activation of cellular checkpoints. In particular, an interesting project looks at the regulation of the replication factor Cdc6 by 5-ASA and related molecules.

The CD Laboratory on Molecular Cancer Chemoprevention provides a developing environment for research in colon cancer prevention and has state-of-the-art equipment.

Requirements:

Candidates should have a PhD in Biochemistry or Cell Biology or a related field, extensive experience with mammalian cell culture including flow cytometry as well as biochemistry (protein purification and analysis). An interest in the molecular mechanisms underlying cell cycle checkpoints is essential.
