You will investigate multi-component protein interactions critical for the viral mRNA export. The study will involve protein preparation and biochemical characterisation, as well as using solution NMR techniques to determine the structure of protein-peptide complexes and new isotopically discriminated NMR approach (Golovanov et al, 2007,J. Am.Chem.Soc., 129:6528) to reveal the mechanism of multi-component complex assembly.

You should have a PhD and research experience in one or several relevant areas. The position will especially suit molecular biologist or protein biochemist/biophysicist willing to gain experience in modern NMR (full training will be provided).

You must be enthusiastic, highly motivated and able to work effectively and co-operatively in a multi-disciplinary interactive laboratory environment.

Funded by the BBSRC, this position is tenable from 1 January 2008 for up to three years.
