POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW - PHARMACOLOGY

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Develop biomarker research projects in drug discovery program for tuberculosis
• Use of predictive animal models and clinical samples to discover and validate surrogate markers of response for TB treatment:
  - Characterization of a new animal model of tuberculosis
  - Glycoprotein/glycolipid as markers of TB infection
  - Absolute quantification (MS) of biomarkers of interest
  - Immune marker of infection vs drug response
• Works with Research Investigator to define and propose the necessary means for research work
• Conducts exploratory activities and generates analysis and interpretation of the results.
• Prepares reports on laboratory activities according to global research standards.
• Adheres to local and global standards and regulations (e.g. health, safety, environment, animal welfare, information security).
• Remains up to date scientifically in his/her specific field.
• Presentation of scientific / technical work at internal and external meetings.

Requirements:

• PhD in Biology, Immunology, Microbiology, Parasitology, Molecular biology or related discipline, preferably with working knowledge of infectious diseases.
• Experience in rat/mouse animal models of infectious disease strongly recommended
• Experience in BSL-3 would be beneficial
• Understanding of analytical methods and mass spectrometry is a plus
• Good Scientific and Technical expertise in a specific area.
• Good command of the English language, both written and verbal.
• Good presentation and writing skills.
