The National Institute for Biomedical Technologies (ITB) is part of the Italian National Research Council (CNR), and is located in Segrate near Milan in the Advanced Technology Interdisciplinary Laboratories building (LITA) in close vicinity to the San Raffaele research center and the University. The ITB also has shared research programs with the Multimedica Hospital, a centre of excellence for cardiovascular medicine recognized by the Italian Minister of Health.
A postdoc position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Daniele Catalucci in the department directed by Prof. Gianluigi Condorelli to study the functional role of signaling pathways and microRNAs in cardiac function and disease. The laboratory focuses on studying functional roles of kinases and microRNAs in cardiac muscle function and disease by utilizing genetically engineered mouse models, miniaturized physiological technology, and a range of molecular and cell biological techniques. Experiments will be carried out in a newly established and well-equipped laboratory at the ITB-CNR and in close collaboration with the Multimedica Hospital.
Candidates with significant experience in molecular, cellular, and biochemical techniques and a strong interest in cardiac muscle biology are encouraged to apply. Experience with mouse models is preferred, but not a requirement. The successful candidate should be highly motivated, display initiative and independence, and have good verbal and written English communication skills.
Salary will be based on experience.
