SAIC Frederick, Inc., the operations and technical support contractor to the National Cancer Institute-Frederick, has a Postdoctoral Fellowship available within the Drug Mechanism Group to conduct research on the application of proteomics to the elucidation of cancer drug mechanism of action. Your primary responsibilities will include the design and execution of quantitative proteomic strategies (2D-PAGE and SILAC) to identify pathways and proteins modulated by treatment with novel cancer agents. You will also make biological inferences from generated data and validate results using classical cellular and molecular validation techniques.

Doctorate degree from an accredited college/university in a discipline related to biomedical research is required. Prefer Doctorate degree in Proteomics and Molecular Biology. Foreign educated candidates who have completed part or all of their education outside of the United States must have their foreign education evaluated by an SAIC-approved accrediting organization to assure that it has met the equivalency of the qualifications of degree work in the United States. Must have experience with classical cellular and molecular validation techniques. This position is subject to obtaining a Public Trust Clearance. Prefer experience in the operation and maintenance of LCQ/LTQ mass spectrometers and publications in proteomics, drug discovery or cancer biology.
