As one of the largest Geography departments in the UK, the Department of Geography at the University of Sheffield has a vibrant community of undergraduates, postgraduates and post-doctoral researchers. The department enjoys a long-standing international reputation for academic research led by staff who are passionate about researching and exploring with students some of the biggest issues facing the world today.
The department is appointing a Post Doctoral Research Fellow to work on the Living with Difference in Europe: Making Communities out of Strangers in an era of Super-mobility and Superdiversity (LIVEDIFFERENCE)- Research Programme. You will organise and manage the analysis of this diverse research data (transcripts and video data) for projects D & E. This will include coding the data, interpreting it in relation to existing academic literature/theory and preparing material for publication and dissemination to both academic and non-academic communities
You will have a PhD or equivalent postdoctoral research experience in a relevant academic field and have experience of using a range of qualitative research methods about sensitive issues and of analysing different types of qualitative data.
The post is available from 1 October 2012 for a period of 20 months until 31 May 2014.
