Postdoctoral Research Scientist in Auditory Neuroscience
Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, University of Oxford
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to jointhe Oxford Auditory Neuroscience Group (http://www.oxfordhearing.com),based in the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, from 1January 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter. The post is availableuntil February 2011, and is funded through a programme grant from theWellcome Trust. We use a multidisciplinary approach, embracingbehavioural, electrophysiological, anatomical and computational methods,to investigate the neural basis for auditory perception. We areparticularly interested in the plasticity of information processing athigher levels of the auditory system, induced as a result of learning onspecific perceptual tasks, interactions with other sensory modalities orfollowing different types of hearing loss. Highly motivated individualswith a PhD and expertise in electrophysiological, behavioural orcomputational approaches to brain function, as well as an interest inneural coding and plasticity are encouraged to apply.
