The European Network of Excellence DiMI (Diagnostic Molecular Imaging)and the University Hospital of Cologne are looking for a Senior Post-Docfor research in the field of Gene Therapy and Molecular Imaging ofGliomas. We seek for a scientist who has a strong background in variousfields of molecular and cell biology including vector generation, PCR,cloning, sequencing, cell culture, immunocyto- and histochemistry.
Previous experience in molecular imaging will be of advantage.
The position as Senior Post-Doc is especially suited for scientists wholook for a position in Germany after having gained extensive researchexperience in a molecular imaging laboratory in another European Countryor in the USA. It is expected that the Senior Post-Doc will achieve theHabilitation (Assistant Professorship) within the next 3-5 years.
Applicants should have acquired good communication skills to interactwithin different research fields, be team players and determined to theproposed research in our laboratory.
The following technologies and methods are available at the MPI (www.nf.mpg.de):
molecular biology lab, μPET, μMRI, optical imaging, autoradiography,histology, immunohistochemistry, invasive imaging, neuromonitoring. Acombined human brain PET-MR System is under construction.
Cologne and its rich scientific environment provide many opportunitiesof interactions with the University of Cologne especially with thegroups from the Centre for Molecular Medicine Cologne (CMMC). Moreover,the Laboratory for Gene Therapy and Molecular Imaging is integrated inEuropean funded research efforts including DiMI (www.dimi.eu) and EMIL(www.emil-net.org) and giving possibility for training and scientificinteraction throughout Europe.
