Description
POSTDOCTORAL POSITIONS for highly motivated individuals are available in the laboratory of Prof. Anna Menini to study the molecular mechanisms of olfactory transduction or to study the functional role of bestrophins in Best disease. For both projects we use an interdisciplinary approach combining patch-clamp electrophysiology, calcium imaging, molecular biology, immunohistochemistry and computational studies.
The laboratory (http://www.sissa.it/nb/index.php?sezID=115) belongs to the Neurobiology Sector of the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA), Trieste, Italy. The Neurobiology Sector provides state-of-the-art research facilities in molecular and cellular biology, imaging and electrophysiology. All activities at SISSA are in English and there are PhD students and postdocs from all over the world.
Applicants should have experience with patch-clamp electrophysiology. Experience with calcium imaging is a plus.
Applicants should have, or soon expect to receive, a PhD, and must be fluent in spoken and written English.
The start date should be between January and March 2008.
