This research project centers on studies of T lymphoid disorders and our efforts to identify the molecular events that underlie the loss of T cell receptor expression and function in abnormal T cells.
The Molecular Immunology Unit is located at the Institut Jules Bordet (IJB) in the center of Brussels. Unique in Belgium, the Institut Jules Bordet is an autonomous comprehensive cancer center devoted entirely to the fight against cancer. IJB is connected with two important hospital networks as the cancer treatment and research center for the Université Libre de Bruxelles (U.L.B.) and as part of IRIS, a network of public hospitals in Brussels. Leading laboratory research is developed at the Institute with the goal of accelerating the process through which laboratory findings are implemented in patient care as a principal goal of IJB with the ultimate aim to cure cancer.
