Description
Located just across the bridge from Copenhagen airport, the “Lund Centerfor Stem Cell Biology and Cell Therapy” is one of six Swedish strategiccenters of excellence in life sciences. Consisting of 25 young andestablished research groups (and almost 200 people), the Center is oneof the largest in the field, with a focus on stem cell research anddevelopmental biology (www.medfak.lu.se/stemcellcenter).
Two postdoctoral positions are immediately available in theDevelopmental Biology section of the Lund Stem Cell Center:
One position is located in the laboratory of Dr. Edgar Pera, which has afocus on cell-cell signaling in early neural development (DevelopmentalCell 13, 226-241, 2007). She/he will carry out an independent researchproject on the analysis of a conditional knockout model in the mouse,complemented by experimental work in Xenopus embryos.
The second position is located in the group of Dr. Udo Häcker. Projectsfocus on signaling mechanisms controlling the actin cytoskeleton duringmorphogenesis and regulation of adult stem cells using Drosophila as amodel. Expansion into the mouse system is a possible direction.
For all projects experience in molecular biology, biochemistry and/ormouse/Drosophila genetics is desirable but not a requirement. Positionsare for 2 years.
