Description
Based in the MRC Centre for Synpatic Plasticity within the Department of Anatomy, you will analyse and help interpret data required for high profile publications in an important and internationally competitive field of molecular neuroscience. You will carry out research in to the mechanisms controlling the number and location of synaptic AMPARs and will design and perform experiments under the supervision of the principal investigators to further our understanding of AMPA receptor trafficking in neurones. You will also be expected to drive your research forward, to publish original research papers and collaborate effectively with other members of the lab. In addition, you will possess and develop specific areas of expertise, for example live cell imaging, specific cell biological assays etc and assist in the training of undergraduate and postgraduate students.
If successful, you may be appointed either on a fixed term or a permanent contract depending on the extent of your previous relevant research experience.
