Description
A postdoctoral fellowship position is available at the MassachusettsGeneral Hospital to study the genetic underpinnings of melanomatumorigenesis.
Our research unit is affiliated with the Wellman Center forPhotomedicine, the MGH Cancer Center and the MGH Center for HumanGenetics Research. Areas of interest include: (1) identification ofnovel melanoma predisposition variants using candidate resequencingand/or SNP association approaches; (2) analysis of somatic alterationsin melanoma that define novel oncogenic and tumor suppressor loci and(3) mechanistic investigations into ultraviolet radiation biology andits impact on melanoma development.
The MGH environment is vibrant with translational cancer geneticsresearch and there is also easy access to cores and resources availablewithin the greater Dana Farber/Harvard Cancer Center.

Interested candidates should have a PhD and/or MD as well as in-depthlaboratory experience in molecular genetics, molecular biology,genetic/genomic technologies and bioinformatics.
